Beaumont Primary School

Music

Intent: At Beaumont, our vision in music, our vision is to enable all children to become confident and competent musicians, willing to share their achievements through performance and other platforms, and aware of the potential to succeed at their own level. To achieve this, we deliver a broad and balanced music curriculum, with regular opportunities for children to sing, play a variety of instruments, compose, improvise and to listen, so that they appreciate a diverse range of musical genres and cultures. Our objective is to provide carefully sequenced lessons which build upon prior learning and experiences, develop musical vocabulary, and encourage all children to trust their own creative instincts, while engaging in life skills such as collaborative working, respecting and acknowledging the achievements of others, and persevering to achieve their goals.
