Year 5 visit Kew Gardens

Although the weather at times was inclement, we still had a wonderful time exploring the beauty of Kew Gardens in London. Thank you to all of the parents for enabling this to happen. Educational visits are so memorable for years and years to come.

As you all know, we are learning about the Amazon Rainforest and the children were commended on their knowledge which was brilliant to see! We visited the Glass House which simulated a mini rainforest which was full to the brim of amazingly special plants. We saw a Kapok Tree, tropical plants, banana and cacao trees, coffee plants and much much more. We also explored the Hive and the Princess of Wales Conservatory.

In English, the children are reading 'Journey to the River Sea' and some of the new vocabulary came to life today especially the giant lily pads. All photos have been uploaded onto Classdojo.

Finally, a huge thank you to our parent helpers.
