School Trips and Visits
At Beaumont Primary School, we believe that as well as learning knowledge and applying skills, it is also key for children to have experiences which link to the themes they are learning. As a school we book trips (making them free of charge whenever possible) to help the children to consolidate their learning, make things come to life and enable the children to retain information that they are learning. We do kindly ask for contributions for these trips where there is a cost.
The list below shows some of the school trips we offer plus a list of suggestions of museums and events in the London or local Purley area which you may want to visit as a family. If you have visited anywhere and have any suggestions please don’t hesitate to let us know so we can add them to our list.
Year Six Residential
Residential Trips are an important experience for any child. They find out so much about themselves when engaged in new challenges.
All children gain confidence and their self-esteem improves significantly as they learn to take on more responsibility for themselves, make vital decisions and enjoy a little freedom to discover more about their skills and talents and also their limitations.
This exciting trip gives the children access to a range of outdoor and adventurous activities which they might not have tried before including: aeroball, abseiling, high ropes and low ropes, archery, zip wire etc.
At Beaumont, we offer the opportunity for Year Six to go to PGL, Marchants Hill. We travel on a Friday morning and return Sunday afternoon to avoid disrupting their education at school. Attached below is the PGL website for your perusal and also a presentation for parents and families. The links will provide you with much more of an idea about how valuable these trips are to the children's development. You will see in the photographs how happy and motivated the children are.
